    Sexual Identification Female is rounder and fuller in body than the male when viewed from above.
    Behavior Goldfish come in a variety such as: Feeder Goldfish, (man-made) Shubunkins, Ranchu, Lion Heads, Orandas, Telescopic, Celestial, Ryunkins, Moores, Pearl Scaled, Comets, Bubble Eyes, calico/solid Veiltails. These fish are very messy and require strong filtration yet with a soft, gentle current, ample swimming room, an aquarium that is long rather than tall, a minimum size aquarium of 55 gallons long depending on the size and amount you have, sparse, hardy vegetation that can be planted along the sides and rear of the aquarium, frequent and proper water changes, a variety of foods, large river rocks or pebble gravel, sparse floating vegetation, dim lighting.

    Diet Omnivorous: Small live foods, freeze dried foods, black worms, white worms, Tubifex worms, frozen foods, insect larvae, frozen blood worms, algae wafers, flake foods, mosquito larvae, flake foods, vegetation, algae wafers, zucchini, romaine lettuce, spinach, peas, oranges, Cheerios.
    Reproduction Egglayer: These fish will scatter their eggs throughout their environment. The eggs will hatch within a day or so and will then become wigglers. These fry are very tiny and sensitive.
    Plant Compatibility Crypts, Swords, Aponogetons, Anubias, Anubias Nana, Tiger lotus, Nomaphila plants, Ludwigia Peruensis, Rotala Macranda, Telanthera Rosefolia; however, they enjoy munching on Anacharis, Cabomba - fine leaved plants.
    Tips If keeping different species of goldfish, be aware that some may be more aggressive than others. Goldfish need lots of room and require lots of swimming space. These fish require frequent and proper water changes.
