Behavior
The Big Nosed Upside Down Catfish is a cute, tiny version of his larger cousin. This small, adorable fish requires a minimum size aquairum of 29 gallons long, mid to dense vegetation, lots of driftwood/bogwood, hollow trunks or roots, smooth flat or round rocks, small gravel, caves, clay pots, pvc tubing, dark substrate, and frequent water changes. Make sure to supply him with ample vegetation with broad leaves such as Anubias Congensis, Anubias Barteri, Anubias Nana, Echinodorus plants, Cryptocoryne plants, Sword plants etc. plus several fine-leaved plants for his tankmates. It may take this fish awhile to acclimate to his new home. Once the Big Nosed Upside Down Catfish settles in his new home, he will easily take foods such as freeze dried brine shrimp, shrimp pellets, frozen blood worms, tubifex worms, other frozen foods, insect larvae and other tiny live foods. This very gentle Catfish may be kept in pairs or in schools of 5 or more.
