Behavior
Penguin Fish are very hardy schooling fish that are an attractive addition to any aquarium. These fish are best kept in schools of 6 or more. Sparse vegetation, a dark substrate, ample swimming room, and a high amount of oxygen are required. Penguins are attractive fish that can be easily kept in community tanks. These fish have been know to jump, so take precautions to keep your aquarium covered.

Diet
Omnivorous: Vegetable flakes, shrimp pellets, algae wafers, frozen bloodworms, freeze dried brine shrimp, glass worms, Tubifex worms, plankton, frozen Daphnia.
Reproduction
Egglayer: During spawning, the eggs are deposited among the vegetation. They may hatch within a couple of days or so. The young should be fed Infusoria, and they also should have a small supply of healthy green algae.
